Wait, I'm soooo confused, what happened? Haven't been on here in a bit. But I've done numerous transactions with DK and never had any issues. The latest one was 7/11.
HAHA Hey me too. But in all seriousness, does anyone know what happened? like why all of a sudden is this just coming to light. I would get from him bi-weekly and would have just casual convo's with him.
TLDR: Diamond would buy krono from people on loan (meaning they would give krono with no payment, and after he sold them he would pay them back).
He sent a mass discord blast out asking all of his people for loans to help with a "medical issue" that he claims Redbot knew about and was in support of.
He stole $7-8k (probably more) from various people before being called out/caught.

basically in a nutshell DK proved the flaws of trusting the feedback honor system without question, and highlighted the problem of people not reporting negative feedback when people with high feedback were doing shady crap just because they had a high feedback. and showed me personally after taking me some krono(not alot compared to some people who came out) made me decide i dont care if you have 0 feedback or 10,000 feedback money first, then item i dont care if i am selling or buying since its way easier to just do a chargeback on paypal for non-delivery with a screenshot than to track down a guy online when they steal your krono/item. but some people were also loaning him krono and waiting i sold him krono for cash, then he gave me an excuse so i gave him a couple hours, then when it was next day i reached out to mods, and left feedback then he gave me another excuse then all hell broke loose, so i just had piss poor timing and well learning experiences
You say "people" in the plural. DK was not "people," he was an individual case, a unique case. As you learned, not demanding payment before delivery of goods is a mistake regardless of rating. DK wasn't the first top 30 trader to scam, and he won't be the last. But demanding payment before delivery is the gold standard in online trading. Reputation is second. The combination of these 2 is what makes the system work so well. What was shocking is just how many people were not demanding payment before delivery because of reputation. It's the combination of these two factors that will best protect everyone. I have yet to have a SINGLE chargeback issued by a Paypal Friends payment succeed. They have failed every...single...time.
That said, I don't know why anybody is surprised. JP Morgan was caught manipulating the gold markets. In the 2008 credit default swap crisis no criminal charges were filed against any of the banks. The Federal Reserve prints money with a magic wand. People and businesses were labeled "essential" and "nonessential" in the pandemic. Hell our entire fucking financial system endemnifies fraud, greed, and corruption. It's 2025 and the internet is still the internet. Unless you know these people personally irl, you should assume you live in a crooked ass world.

I was saying it plural because he was doing it for a long time apparently before it came to light and there's no telling how many others are doin similar things. Hopefully none but never know.

This makes him not a unique case. And once is an isolated problem, when it happens again it becomes a trend. However I do agree with you about the issues with paypal fnf sending money via fnf shouldn't be a thing honestly since the person is providing a good/service and not your friend or family and by asking customers to send fnf they are asking customers to give up protection as such but that's a whole different animal in itself. Myself personally I have a personal paypal and a business paypal if it makes a customer feel better they can use my business paypal it is linked to a legit tax ID and doesn't allow fnf as even an option and that way they have protection, but that's a personal choice I made and its a choice my customers can make, 99% of them just choose to send fnf to my personal since it charges them less fees.
And about the jp Morgan and all that, I can agree on those topics but do we really expect them to be held to the same standards as us peons when they can just write a check to buy senators? Lol

You completely misunderstood me. I was saying Paypal Friends IS the gold standard for accepting payments on ECT. You can know with as close to 100% certainty as is possible on the internets that the payment cannot be charged back.
When a person pays with Paypal Friends, this IS the gold standard. Payment before delivery.
This is what I meant by the Gold Standard for trading on ECT is 2 part
1. a payment before delivery that cannot be charged back (such as Paypal Friends!)
2. reputation
The combination of these 2 offer nearly invincible protection here on ECT.
I'm not disagreeing that its the current gold standard on here, i was just stating that 1. It technically is violating what fnf is meant for and can technically get your and their paypal closed(will it? Probably not but it could or could get it locked down). 2. Your correct that its Almost impossible to get the charge reversed which is awesome in the cases where buyer pays, seller delivers then buyer trys to pull a fast one. But its bad in the situation where buyer pays, seller ghosts.
But again my opinion is exactly that my opinion and it has definitely changed since the dk issue so where I had been willing to extend the benefit of the doubt before for transactions that is not so much the case anymore

The golden rule as a seller is always demand payment before delivery.
The reciprocity of this rule combined with reputation is the best protection you will find in the RMT market. When dozens of people are supplying a reseller and not following this rule, a long hustle becomes a growing possibility.
Reputation is still the best protection buyers will find on the RMT market. While we sympathize with your losses, not all of us are DK. Reputation still matters here. I have been building mine since 2017. I'm just eyeballing this number, but I've done maybe 4,000 to 5,000 transactions on ECT? Reputation is still the best protection buyers will find on ECT. So you best believe I'm going to advocate for my reputation that I've built over the course of 8 years and thousands of transactions <3

Yea, I can understand the mindset of someone coming in and thinking feedback or reputation doesn't matter. But that's silly. It obviously does. And by ignoring that system you are opening up the floodgates for other scammers to potentially have success here.

The last thing I will do on this Earth is accept a Goods & Services payment for Krono.

The Top 10 Trader Mafia isn’t going to come knocking on your door. This whole mess could’ve been kept much smaller if people had reported DK’s failure to pay for weeks while he was ghosting them. I don’t know what kind of fairy dust that guy was smoking, but it sure turned him into one hell of a snake charmer.

feedback system on this site has been broken for years. I did 1 job for DK. i pl'd him a character for 600$ on project quarm. i made him pay before we started and didnt have any issues. During the PL he did seem a bit unhinged as if he was under the influence of heavy drugs. sometimes he said some things in game chat during the PL that revealed i was pl'ing him for $ and made me feel uneasy and confused as to why he would say something so obvious. Majority of people on this site are scumbags. From my experience the more invested somebody is into this site the more of a scumbag they are. Also if somebody is a reseller just stay away. they are basically scum of the earth.
He's still upset that the site's users voted against him THREE YEARS AGO.

Somebody earliar in the thread said feedback is no longer king and i gave my 2 cents on that as well. You actually had nothing to do with what i said and you are trying to bring back up old drama and bring in new people to try to convince them to stop buying from me. get over yourself.

I've never been scammed on this site, been using it for a good many years. I feel it's setup in a most ideal way. Just remove showing people when we are discussing things in dm's with people as that could lead to problems, other than that 10/10 ^^ If you're getting scammed on here, it's likely because you are not taking common sense steps to prevent yourself from being fked over.
The thing was release of information and reaching out about legal options.
I don't think it was ever implied that ECTunnel would reimburse users who were unfortunately taken advantage of by the Scammer formerly known as DiamondKrono
