Discussion Replacing a phone # on an account

Let's say you buy an account, and a phone number is already on it. Is it possible to completely replace that phone number? Does the owner of the existing phone number need to help in this process?

No, as long as you know the SQA, you can change the phone # by your own.

That would require talking to customer service though, wouldn't it?

Bonus question: would the original Credit Card # be more important than SQA?

I have never had to contact customer service to change a phone number. Only thing asked when changing number is the SQA, then just enter new number and verify with text message on new number.

Yeah as long as you have the SQA can remove or change a number with no issue

If someone were buying an account with an SQA already set, what would be the best method to secure it?

Email and add phone number because that is their ideal method of recovery.. the phone number

Along with what domino said, if the account didnt have a credit card attached to it I would add one and make a small purchase and then delete the info. Could always use that credit card info when trying to recover the account if it was taken back.
