got a warning for posting monsters and memories sales in the Misc section and post deleted. I'm not mad or complaining, just confused. i thought the misc section was for off topic things but i guess not. Dont we want to integrate this game into the community?

also i made a sale off that post already and it was a brand new person to the forums here so its having a positive impact on the population so far.
 
Its funny that you read the misc tag to mean other games, when i read it to mean other items that arent necessarily something that drops in game, like idk, a LoN claim or something weird.

The general forum name is called Everquest though, I was always under the impression that we didnt deal with other games as that could just bog down the sections with a bunch of posts that maybe only reach a small amount of people?

I believe Pory would be correct - it's Forums > Trading > EVERQUEST > EverQuest Items and Misc >

So everquest is twice in that list as we delve deep into the sub forums to get to that location.

The discussion and perhaps the suggestion section are the right way to go about it.
MnM isn't technically released yet. So not entirely sure it would be seen as a positive. ECTunnel has only ever been EverQuest up to this point. Which suggests to me it's fairly intentional.
 
almost every discord or forum ive used has a section for off topic things but im not concerned about the section or the warning more interested in discussing M&M becoming part of ect. i dont see how it would bog things down if it had its own section. if you dont want to see it you dont click on the M&M section. the game is basically where EQ players are going next and my post pulled in 2 requests in 24 hours and one is reoccuring. demand exists regardless of beta or launched, gotta get in early before someone else takes the traffic imo.
 
At the end of the day this is going to require Redbot approval and effort to add it to the forums. By all means feel free to talk amongst yourselves about it, but putting in suggestions is probably the best route to go if you feel that strongly about it.
 
I mean I dont know exactly what the expected profits are from a single visitor to the forum, but there are a ton of other websites where you can sell for any game you want.

At the end of the day youre right, if there was a seperate section I just wouldnt need to look at it. And im sure it would allow me to gain waaay more free ducats for submitting reports 🤣

Idea - Miscellaneous Games Section

I've seen a couple of warning threads for Wrong Forum pass through for what looks to be SWTOR, DAoC, etc tradable currencies and other in-game stuff. Could we get a sanctioned Other Games/Misc Games section for stuff like WoW gold, DAOC platinum, GW2 stuff, etc? I'm sure that there are members...

im not really concerned about other random games. just monsters and memories as its a very big deal in the EQ community and the majority of players are going to be playing this game. its in another category than just random games in my opinion. I feel it deserves its own section and i think this thread is the perfect place to talk about it as the subject is about monsters and memories and that other thread is just about random games.

Well, this is a discussion thread. As I said before, you're welcome to discuss it until you're blue in the face.
If you're trying to make a suggestion - you should make a thread in the suggestions.

I suppose it's worth giving your poll time to accumulate interested/uninteresting parties.
 
This is 100% ok...it was all my fault....I forgot where it was posted and spaced....you just need to make sure it is all in the misc and has the misc tag in it.
 
A catchall "Other Games" section doesn't sound like a terrible idea. Then again, it was my idea.
ECT would still primarily be EverQuest focused with the ability to dip into other games that we all might play.

MnM, TESO, FFXIV, GW2, whatever. They don't need their own sections but A section?
 
I know there was a WoW area at one time but from what I remember it went unused, I would say put it in a "other games" and if it shows to warrant it's own section visit that then
that being said, I voted yes, only for the reason that if wow was able to have there own section before, why should it be any different now.
 
I'm voting no, but solely because this game is still in early access. There's been a few newer MMORPGs that have been shut-down recently after "all EQ players were heading there", and I think bringing RMT to our site for something that might not last could cause headaches for buyers, sellers, and mods.

That being said, I'm also ok with an "other games" section somewhere; but when we did something similar for WoW it was pretty worthless overall.
 
People are allowed to post other games, or hardware, or cameras, just put it in the misc tag.

If there's something that's popular here we'll make a section, but only when there's demand.
