I suspect it should be changed. Here's why:
Sharing personal photos, especially of another person who is not the trader and un-verified, can be risky for both the trader and the other person posted. It's of my opinion that we probably shouldn't allow that type of content here.
One reason might be, aside from the picture of the trader themselves, how could we possibly know if the photo of the other person (in said situation) has given consent for their personal picture to be posted publicly?
For all we know, it could be someone the trader wants to put under hot water. What if this trader posts a picture of their ex-husband or ex-wife and decides to burn a bunch of people?
One way I test things is I will assume the worst, then ask if something real bad could occur.
I'm commenting on this thread because it popped up, my opinion is absolutely non-personal and not directed toward any one specific individual. This appears to create serious privacy concern, It's probably something that should be nipped in the butt.
Ultimately moderators will know if it's an issue or not. They have all the experience and tools at their disposal, I'm sure they can determine if this type of issue is a privacy concern or not. I could be completely wrong here.
If the case is such that it is deemed allowed, I suspect the trader themselves would get the green light to post a picture of themselves IF they have verified, but I don't believe this ability should carry over to other people who have not been verified for the reasons posted above.

This is a wild take. What's the actual difference between this opinion and someone saying "we shouldn't allow profile pictures of anime characters, or pokemon, or anything else you can have an opinion about.
If thats the direction we are going, why even allow profile pictures at all? Why not just give everyone a color and letter and go from there.

It was not an ai generated photo previously. The person in question has switched their profile picture since you have commented.
Oh, I literally wasn't speaking about them. I was saying in general, just because you don't like to look at something isn't a valid reason for people not to be able to do it. Hence the pokemon suggestion. It would be crazy for me to have yo change my profile picture because someone was annoyed at seeing a pokemon. Which is literally what's being said here lol

Obviously the post was facetious. But your bad analogy of RL pics and Pokemon is incorrect. Because as of right now, as far as I'm aware, there are 0 active users on ECT using their RL pics as avatars. Literally everyone is using an alternate persona - or Pokemon as you put it. That's why it's a poor analogy. Need further proof you are advocating for and beating on a dead horse? The 1 user who previously had a RL pic as their profile already changed it. So unless you want to change your avatar pic to your RL pic, and advocate for that, there's nothing left to discuss at present. The suggestion is already consciously practiced and in line with how users on ECT actually function. The hint was made. The hint was taken. Don't like how it was said? Too bad. As evidenced by some of the reactions, some of us found it hilarious and entertaining! You are not in possession of all the facts concerning this case. But thanks for your 2 cents.

You yourself admit to making the post about a specific trader, and that since you made the post that trader as updated his profile picture. None of that matters regarding anything I'm referring to.
