Funny Is "Unverified Verified" available?

Yea, it was me. Who really wants to share THAT many personal details on the internet in 2026? We are playing a game we love, not applying for a drivers license.

Ya know, I'm a paying customer on both RG and here. Been playing EQ for decades and paying your website for years. I sent you a polite and perfectly reasonable question. Is it too much for me to expect a personal response to my inbox?

Well it wasn't the plan to say whom it was.
The point of verification is to try and give people a way to hold someone accountable should they decide to steal. Without the information that would allow someone to hold another accountable then you are not verified. It's not a pretty tag that we just hand out. Information must be shared in order to become verified. If you don't want to share that information, that's fine. But we won't be verifying anyone who doesn't want to share it. Simple as that.

If we would have accepted your request, it would have undermined the entire point of verification. Making it a moot point.

Also, sorry to hear you didn't get a personal response. The request did not go to all of the mods. So neither me nor Sic saw this request and thus could not respond directly. It was brought up in a private conversation with other mods, it was my assumption that a response was rendered. However, it is also possible that they decided the request must have been satirical as you were essentially asking for us to lie on your behalf and we're not them kinda people.

well, i don't monitor that so i dont know if you got a reply to/from that or not - us mods/admins were just discussing the message

i do know, however, that your request seems like you don't understand the point, purpose, or intent of "verified" membership.

like a gay marriage, or a pony - verification is the same thing if you don't want one, dont get one.

I also intentionally didn't name any names - but i did want to illuminate the wildly disparate perspectives that could result in someone wanting "to be verified without verification". the sellers and long-time buyers here I can't imagine any of them would be like "hell yeah that sounds like a great plan".

it isn't, it is a terrible idea.

lots of "paying customers" have scammed people - shit even *verified* members have scammed people.
plenty of "not paying customers" haven't scammed people too.
verified is another layer of safety/security/investment so everyone feels like an equal level of good faith on both selling and buying.
 
Man, so much to say here. I'll just let everything Sic said go because he has a penchant for being condescending and I'd rather just not deal with it. Maybe he feels like the "bigdawg" of this forum or something. It feels slightly like talking to a school yard bully. Anyway, he can have that title.

It seems to me there are ways to verify someone that are a bit less invasive than what you guys are asking for. It also seems to me that the fact I can PAY for the rights of a verified member undermine this process more than simply talking to long-term users. Either way, it's not worth it to me.

All of this could have been hashed out in a personal conversation. I'm sorry I took your guys valuable time and asked a question politely.

Well again, there was no intention of responding to you using this message. The recipient of your request brought it up. We determined we should probably post something about this not being a thing in case others decided to ask the same or similar question. You'll have to take it up with the person you asked. You outed yourself on it. We never pointed a finger at anyone, or addressed this post to anyone one in particular.

ectunnel.com and redguides.com are two different things. Sure they have some overlap in userbases and mods/admins but that doesn't mean they don't both offer their own individual services. I don't expect fuel for free at Murphy's just because I shop at walmart. Neither should you.

I'm sorry to hear that you are not a fan of Sic. But you may be surprised to know he is in fact a bigdawg on this forum, but it's not his intent to be a bully and I'm sorry you took it that way.

Hopefully you now have your answer and we can all move on from this misunderstanding.
