To add to this, I just learned that e-check is a method of payment in PayPal. And what happens is that, if you only look at the notification, it shows the money was receieved. If you actually go into the paypal notification for the e-check, it will tell you that its an e-check and it needs xxx days to clear before releasing the funds. This also is explained if you CLICK INTO the email that is sent.
Luckily the gentleman i was dealing with was honest and about a week later the funds we released, but its definitely taught me to actually click into the email or notification to make sure its guaranteed funds before sending.
As obv like we see here, it would be really easy to take advantage of this.
